The Good Life

Oct 13, 2021

During the month of October, the Lord instructed us to pray every night at 10:00pm. Thank you Prophetess Blackstock for your obedience and keeping us on task. There are many forces that can attack you during these dark days so praying nightly and daily is crucial. In today’s Bishop’s Buzz I wanted to focus on our main scripture of the month John 10:10. It establishes who to watch out for, but more importantly, what Jesus wants to deliver to His sheepfold.

In John 10:10, it presents a very famous portion of text that is quoted as much as any other portion of scripture. There are two dynamics going on in the scripture that don’t necessarily believe to be related. Don’t be fooled, they most definitely are. In order for us to get the full picture we must then look at the scripture in its context. The text reads “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:1 – 10 KJV)
When you read verse 10 now it becomes clearer. The thief is the enemy and he came to steal, kill and destroy. The Devil’s plan is to steal, kill, and destroy your life, dreams, your joy, your hopes, and your love. The Devil’s plan is obvious and we keep falling for it. Let’s realize his plan and react by rejecting him and the Devil will flee. In the same scripture we see God’s most loving plan for His children. He has come to give us life and life more abundantly. The abundant life is not meant for the occasional Christian or just for the most elite, it meant for all of us. Let’s grab ahold of the abundant life Jesus has promised us by following Jesus by our actions and our love.

People of God remember Jesus came to give us the sweet life. We are called to live an abundant life. Ephesians 2:10 in the Amplified version Bible explains this principle better then I ever could. “For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” (Ephesians 2:10 APC)

Repeat after me “I have the Good Life!” We all should speak life into your good life!
Thank you for reading another Bishop’s Buzz. A buzz is not a buzz unless you share it!
