For Such a Time as This!
There are some Christians that were called to the gift of watching others (just kidding) and never getting their hands dirty in the process. Their Christian walk dotted with missed opportunities and being quiet when the moment called for them to act on behalf of someone or stand up for God. We hopefully are not those types of Christians. I believe that we came to earth to defend the faith and defend the calling. We came to the kingdom for such a time as this. We are called to collide with darkness, not to let the darkness take over.

GBFIC, friends, and family as we get closer to God, our mission is shown to us more clearly and more concisely. We are to stand up for righteous sake and stand against unrighteousness where ever or whenever we face it. God gives us great examples throughout the world’s history and the bible of people doing just that. In history, we have had such great men and women such as Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, and Oskar Schindler. I do not have enough time to tell their stories, but most of their stories are well documented.

Let’s discuss the examples you need to know about biblically because you were called for such a time as this. First, we look at Mordecai and Esther. Mordecai challenged Esther to use her status in the kingdom to defend the Jews against oppression and death. Esther 4:14 states plainly that “For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 KJV) You were not called to keep silent or to hold your peace, you were stamped with destiny, and your destiny moment could be now.

Paul, at first as Saul, a staunch enemy of the faith, became one of the greatest defenders and Apostles of the faith. Let’s look at some of his writings to determine if he kept quiet during wrongdoing. In Romans 8 specifically, he dealt with that very subject. He stated “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” (Romans 8:18-21, 28-30 KJV) I believe, like Paul, that whatever you are going through right now is a direct result of the purpose and destiny for your life, and will result in supernatural blessings and glory to show in your life.
