Young Christians Need to Elevate
As we prepare for another youth Sunday, God wanted me to remind
the adults in the world that the young Christians in their lives need to be
encouraged to do more, be more, and live like Jesus. The generation after
us is the first generation of Christians that identify with having a church
home significantly less than the previous generation. Considerably fewer
young people identify themselves as Christians than the previous
generation. Although more third-world countries are finding the Lord in
incredible growing numbers, right here in the United States and other first-
world countries the numbers of new Christians is decreasing at an alarming
rate. Parents, grandparents, and guardians, it is crucial in this season to
defend the faith and evangelize to the young person in your life. They are
not just the future of the church. They are the present! Young people
cannot wait until they are adults to make a difference for the Kingdom of
God. Do it now!
There are two scriptures we have to continue to enforce to all young
people in our lives. They encourage them to become the best version of
themselves in the eyes of God.
The first scripture is Ecclesiastes 11:9-10. This scripture tells young
people that what they plan to do in their youth is vanity. Clean up their act
right away. “Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer
thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the
sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring
thee into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away
evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.” (Ecclesiastes 11:9-
10 KJV). The scripture reminds the young believer to make the transition
to spiritual adulthood sooner rather than later. I encourage you to minister
this scripture to your teenager and young adult. Let’s get them back into
the household of God right away.
The second scripture is 1 Timothy 4:10-12. This scripture encourages
the young person that is already moving in the gifts of God that they are
important to the body of Christ. Be a true example of the Lord. For
therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living
God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These
things command and teach. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an
example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in
faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:10-12 KJV)
Again I say to the young people in your life, you are not just the future
you are the present. Rise young person it is your time to shine. You are
not the future of the church. You are the present! Don’t wait until you are
adults to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. Do it now!
In May, Prophetess Adrinne Blackstock instructed us to declare in the
atmosphere the following refrain:
May will be filled with blessings.
May will be filled with positivity.
May will be filled with progress.
May will be filled with opportunities.
May will be filled with new beginnings.
May will be filled with “peace of mind.”
Rise young person, it is your time to shine.
